What Are You Looking For?Hebrews 11:10 “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”The “he” in our verse is Abraham. By faith Abraham “sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country…” I think I can relate to that part about living in “a strange country”. I have said often in these last few years that the America I am living in today is not the same one I grew up in as a boy. We live in a strange day, a day where the things the Bible calls evil are seen as good and the things the Bible calls good are seen as evil. Though the world around us is strange and evil what are you looking for? What or maybe who has your attention these days? What is your heart set on? What are you chasing in life? While Abraham looked for a city, Christians today ought to be looking for heaven! We ought to be looking for Jesus Christ. The next event to take place on God’s divine calendar is the rapture of the church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Looking for the Saviour and listening for the sound of a trumpet ought to be on our agenda every day! So many live out their lives without giving any look, without giving any thought about Jesus Christ. May God give us a vision of faith like that of Abraham.
