"WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS"
"But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." (Jude vs. 17-21)
If you were to scan any newspaper, many of the headlines are terrifying. There are stories about home invasions, murders, thefts, and so much more. Just the headlines alone give us examples of the wickedness that exists in our world.
As Christians, we often talk about how the world is changing before our very eyes. There are many times that we talk about the actions of people around us and how it seems that wickedness is running rampant in our society. But it really shouldn’t surprise us that there are evil people who are doing these types of things.
Throughout the Scriptures, we are given warning after warning about what to expect as time marches on. We are told that the wickedness of the world will get worse. We are told that people will chase their own lusts. Ungodly lusts of sin, separated from anything to do with God. Still, we want to believe that there are good people in the world who mean well and are striving to live for God.
Those people are Christians, who should be living a life that shows a clear example and difference. Sure, we are going to be mocked for living our lives for God. We are going to be ridiculed, and those chasing their ungodly desires are not going to understand. Yet, we are called to be different and live our lives for God.
The days we face may not get any easier, but we must remember there is a better day ahead. The wickedness will rage in this world, but one day it will end. No matter how difficult it may be right now, don’t give up hope! Keep on living for the Lord and be that example of living the Christ-like life to those who chase their worldly lusts.
Friends, it's never going to be a good day to give in or give up and allow those tough days to overcome us. For the Captain of our Salvation has already given His warriors the victory. Paul wrote, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." (Romans 8:3)
