These verses look at one of the most important questions in Christianity: if God will always forgive when asked, what is the incentive to not sin? Paul explains that Jesus died for us; we all know this is true. More importantly, we ALL died when Jesus died. God sent Jesus to earth to die for us, almost as a representative for us. It was because of our actions that we need to be forgiven, and Jesus was sent here to forgive us. Paul explains that he is compelled to honor Jesus’ life. Paul loved Jesus and realized the sacrifice that was made and in an effort to honor his sacrifice, he is compelled to lead a more godly life. How much better would the world be if we all felt the same way as Paul?
