Every Knee & Every TonguePhilippians 2:9-11“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”The great opposition against Jesus Christ and Christianity will one day be no more.The name of Jesus Christ will one day be vindicated! People laugh and make scorn towards Christ but what will they do in that day? They will bow the knee and their tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Their confession will not be a willing acceptance of His salvation and authority but a part of their judgment from Him who they have rejected and ridiculed. Isaiah the prophet issued the verdict of the LORD in Isaiah 45:23 when he wrote the words of the LORD; “I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.” Peter on the day of Pentecost proclaimed it in a sermon; Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”The question to all the world is not will you confess Jesus Christ as Lord but “when”. Trust me, now will be much better than then!Romans 10:9“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
