"YE WHICH ARE SPIRITUAL"
"Brethren, If a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted." (Galatians 6:1)
Let's say someone slips and falls on, or over something that was in their path. How do we respond? Do we simply watch them try to get up by themselves? Do we laugh thinking how funny it was in the way they tripped or what it was that caused them to take that tumble and lay there may be hurting from that fall?
Maybe we wait to see if someone else comes by to give them a hand. If they were hurt, a first-aid manual we could consult on how to treat them would sure come in handy, wouldn't it? No human being, with even a tiny bit of compassion, would stand by and do nothing to help that individual back on their feet. Only an uncaring person would not come running to their rescue.
Now, I'm sure each one of us knows someone who has fallen spiritually. That person never planned on falling, but they did. How do we respond to that situation? Do we hang around to see if they're able by themselves to get back on their feet? Do we snicker over the reason for their fall and then, God forbid, run and tell someone else how that person fell? Do you think that maybe they could be hurting while lying there in that condition? Is there a First-Aid manual on hand we could use to help them? If so, would we come running with it to their rescue?
Well praise God, there is a Manual called the Word of God that we can use that's jammed pack with helps for those who have fallen spiritually! We'll find within its pages the comfort that can be given to mend a broken spirit. We'll discover inside that Faith-Aid Manual the Great Physician's directions on how to apply His healing salve to any aching and troubled heart. His pages are well stocked with the purest of promises that will restore Godly health so that the spiritually ill may once again enjoy an active, fruitful, and joyful abundant life.
Friends, do we care enough with that compassion that makes a difference? Will we come running to their needed rescue with Heaven's desire of a full recovery? Does it take someone who is well-trained in a specific field to be on call to help? Not at all. It simply takes someone with spiritual meekness, a compassionate heart, and a helping hand, who goes that extra mile and reminds them of that ever-faithful work of our Great Shepherd, "He restoreth my soul."
