Giving It To God 1 Peter 5:7“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”Life has this way of bringing to us some very difficult days. Age makes no difference.I know many young people who are facing difficult situations. Obviously there are difficulties that come with getting old!There are difficulties that find their way into a marriage and family. We are told in our verse to cast all our care upon Jesus Christ.The word “care” means anxiety. The word “anxiety” is defined in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary as- “Concern or solicitude respecting some event, future or uncertain, which disturbs the mind, and keeps it in a state of painful uneasiness.” Painful uneasiness of the mind is a good definition of anxiety. The word “casting” means to throw or place upon. We are told in the previous verse how this action of faith begins; 1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” The casting of our care or anxiety upon God begins with our own humility before God. Only He can help us through the difficult days and the moments filled with anxiety as we humble ourselves and place the situation in His hand. When we do this the promise is given that in due time He will exalt us or lift us up out of the situation. Are you having an anxious moment? Then cast it up upon Jesus. He cares for you and in His due time He will bring you up from it!
