Be Careful About Being Deceived2 Timothy 3:13-15“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”Christian be very careful about allowing yourself to be deceived. The words “deceiving” and “deceived” in our text means to cause to stray, to lead astray, or to lead aside from the right way. Satan would love to deceive any Christian and he will go to great and subtle lengths to do so. Our text gives us a way to prevent us from being deceived.First, “continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of”. Simply, stay in the things you have learned from the Word of God. Remain faithful to what you have been taught.Second, do not forget the people who taught you, “knowing of whom thou hast learned them”. Consider the fact that a faithful pastor, dedicated Sunday School teacher, and/or a loving parent took the time to invest in your life spiritually. Paul reminded Timothy that it was from a child that he had learned the holy scriptures. Reflecting on what God has taught you and who He used to teach you can be a great help to keep one from being deceived. Do not throw away the spiritual knowledge and investment of others. If you do, you may end up being deceived and astray from God.
