"CONSIDER OUR GREAT GIVER" "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;" (1Timothy 6:17)Do you think yourself to be poor today? Then give special attention to the last part of this verse, "who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;"Again and again, we read throughout the Scriptures that our Lord is the Great Giver from Glory. His giving is not only rich, but we'll soon discover that it is without rival and within reach for all.First, He is the Great Giver of Gifts. Each and every one of those goodies, which He has personally prepared for you and I, are the very best gifts that He has to offer. He always knows exactly what good things we need and when we need them. His gifts are not only good; they're perfect as well. James 1:17 reminds us, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." Who then can tally up the number of His gifts? Who among us can count that long list of His many blessings? Not I and not you dear couples. All He wants in return from us is to remember what Psalm 68:19 says and then lift our voices in praise to Him for all He bestows saying, "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah."Not only is He the Great Giver of Gifts, but He is also the Great Giver of Grace as well. See His tender hand of forgiveness being extended to you and I every moment when we cry out for mercy. He is the Alpha and Omega of Grace and Mercy; therefore, His mercy is an everlasting mercy! In Psalm 136, we find each of those 26 verses ends with that resounding reminder of His Manna of Mercy falling without fail and without end every single day. Oh, hear the Psalmist in those verses as he sings Heaven's eternal guarantee, ".....for his mercy endureth for ever."The Great Giver of Gifts? Yes, He is!The Great Giver of Grace? Without fail indeed! And lest we forget, He is the Great Giver of Gladness.Let's be honest with each other. To be sure, life is often filled with toil and trouble. But we who know Christ, are indwelt and surrounded with His Golden Presence of Gladness. Concerning the Gladness of our Saviour, Hebrews 1:9 echoes the Words of Psalm 45:7 in the Old Testament crying out, "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." His oil of gladness, which is above all others, is His and His alone, and with that fragrant balm of His, He freely heals all our sorrows and mourning's with His everlasting gladness which produces His joy in our lives. Isaiah 51:11 was and is for all the redeemed who turn their sorrows over to Him. The sweetest song the saints can sing is found in those words, "Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away." Flee away! Flee away! Flee away! All sorrows and mourning's shall flee away dear people. What joy is ours with His great oil of gladness!Yes friends, He is the Great Giver of Gifts, Grace, and Gladness. Do you still think yourself to be poor? Then hear and hide that promise in your heart, "...who giveth us richly all things to enjoy."
