Seek Godly Counsel And Heed ItProverbs 11:14“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”Proverbs 15:22“Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”Proverbs 24:6“For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.”The book of Proverbs has much to say about seeking and heeding wise counsel. Through the years of being a Christian and a preacher I have met other Christians and other preachers who were very wise. I would be a fool not to seek their counsel and Biblical guidance when I know it is needed. If I do not seek out and heed that wise counsel the Bible says I could fall and my purposes will be disappointed. I recall once when I was a pastor, I had a situation come up that I was not sure of how I should handle it. I called two wise and older preachers and asked, “What would you do?” I made the calls separate and both men gave me the exact same advice. It would have been foolish of me not to heed their wise counsel. Thank God I did and their counsel was successful in seeing me through the situation.Do you have something in which you do not know what to do, a situation you do not know how to handle?Seek the counsel of a wise Christian you know and heed their counsel. Remember, it does no good to seek it and then ignore it!
