What Or Who Needs To Change?James 4:6-8“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”Without fail, in our trying times of life we seek to change the circumstance or situation or problem we are dealing with. We must consider that God wants to use the circumstance to change us! In our text James gives us some help in this area. Resist our own prideful actions! This helps us to appreciate the grace of God and allows His grace to work in our life. Submit yourself to God! Resist the devil. Identify the actions and reactions satan is tempting us to take and say NO to him and them! Get real serious about your devotional time with God! Use it to draw near to Him. As you draw the nearer to Him, there is a reciprocal effect; God will draw near to you! Cleanse your hands and purify your heart! Confess and repent of all known sin in your life. Ask God to search your heart for any sinful attitudes that might be going undetected. God is always seeking to mold His children more into His likeness. As we face the trials of our faith may we realize that we cannot change it or them, but we can allow God to use them to change us. It is we who are always needing to change.2 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
