Him Only Satan tempted Jesus and said, “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.”Matthew 4:10 gives us Jesus’s response; “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”Who or what you worship is who or what you will end up serving. Jesus knew this and taught us all by example that we must resist Satan’s temptations. The first two of the Ten Commandments tell us strictly that God will not tolerate the worship of other gods in our life; “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” and “thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image”. Exodus 20:5 says, “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me…”May the LORD God and Him only reign upon the throne of our hearts. May we serve Him alone. May we resist Satan’s temptations for us to allow him or any other gods into our life. May the motto of our heart be GOD ALONE!
