The success of negotiations to end the war in the middle-east brokered by President Donald Trump has prompted a call for him to receive the Nobel Peace Prize and deservedly so. When you combine the current exuberant enthusiasm with the magnitude of the impact that global world peace has on humanity and no one since Lincoln deserves it more. Unfortunately, too many people have forgotten the virtue of patients. Immediate gratification is an emotional response, not necessarily a realistic or practical response. I am not surprised that President Trump wasn’t chosen, nor should he have been awarded the prize this time. Two things; as a matter of practical timing and process the Nobel committee makes their determination under predetermined established rules and guidelines, including deadlines for nominations. All nominations for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize were required to be made by December 31, 2024. Undoubtedly, Donald John Trump will be nominated this time and despite the Prize committee having developed a bad reputation for having strong biased WOKE leanings and not above political corruption, he will win hands down for 2026.
