Patient ContinuanceGalatians 6:9“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”Job 1:5“And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.”Each and every day, continually, Job rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings to God on behalf of all his sons. It is the “continually” part that sometimes gets to us. Take a long trip, you are excited to start out and once you are there the excitement is there! But somewhere in between the start and finish you grow weary of the travel. In a race only one winner is given a prize. No one gets a prize for enduring the middle part of the race. The Christian must keep all this in mind in his or her service for our Lord. Patiently continuing on for our Lord is a trying of one’s faith. Patient continuance can be the test of one’s character and integrity before God. This is especially true if the current path you are on for our Lord is an uphill leg in the race. A lot can be said about the phrase “in due season”. This is the appointed time in which we enter heaven’s glory and we see our Lord face to face!! None know when their personal “due season” time will come. But while we wait for that day we patiently continue on in and with the things of God.Do not grow weary dear Christian! In your appointed time you will reap!
