"SINGING THE SONG OF REMEBRANCE" "And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME." (1 Corinthians 11:24) (caps mine)It would seem that we, as the children of God who have been so faithful with the many tasks of life, can very often become forgetful with the mighty Truths of the Lord."This do in remembrance of me." Those words spoken were the very words of my Saviour. Of course, the text here speaks about the Lord's Supper, which is a constant reminder of our Lord's Sacrifice for us and His Steadfastness to us. For that friends are what we are to remember as we daily sojourn along here in this life.To be sure, our daily lives are filled with many duties and responsibilities. For many who labor outside of the home, there's the job we toil at eight hours and sometimes longer every day. For others, who work within the home, their chores are indeed overwhelming at times. The house needs to be cleaned. The laundry is in need of washing. The bills need to be paid. The children need to be tended to. The meals for those little ones and our spouse take careful planning and preparation. Younger parents are often seen running here and there with a carload of youngsters. They're either dropping students off at school in the morning or picking them up in the afternoon. Then there's the after-school events they participate in which we attend. Busy, busy, busy. All of us have or can identify with these lists of chores which demand much of our time day after day after day. When the night comes, we often think to ourselves, "Is there anything I forgot today?" Then, in the still of that moment, we remember. Yes, we remember those six little words found in this verse, "This do in remembrance of me." In all of our doings throughout the day, many times we forget Him.Let's remember Him as we labor. Let's remember Him as we love. Let's remember Him whether it be in times of great lamentation or in times of great laughter. Oh, how could we ever forget such a One as Jesus? For He is the One Who constantly remembers us!Friends, as we hurry and hustle along today on our journeys while going about our various tasks, let's lift our voices Heavenward Singing that Song of Remembrance for all the Lord Jesus has done for us.
