No Man, But Jesus!John 5:7-9“The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.”The backstory of this impotent man is a sad one. For 38 years he lay by the pool at Bethesda, waiting and hoping to get in the pool after an angel came in certain seasons and troubled the water. The first one in, afterwards received healing. For 38 years he waited, unable to get in, and no one would help him. In this I see a couple of things I relate with some of what I see today.First, I find the fact that no one would help him very sad. Why would no one help him?Second, I see that this man was only looking for what man could do to help him. I am sure that after 38 years of being passed by he might have a touch of bitter resentment. Jesus brought to him more than just healing. He gave him forgiveness and a new life to live for God! At first this man did not know who it was that had healed him, but Jesus sought him out and identified Himself to him.John 5:13-14“And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”Jesus did for this man what no man could ever do. I too can testify today of what Jesus has done in me, what no man could ever do! He saved me and has gave me a life to live for Him!
