John Colby (Member 64,757) spotted ‘a dragon with a Sun heart’ over Bandon, Oregon, US. The dragon’s body is a Cirrus intortus cloud, the form of Cirrus named with the Latin for ‘entangled’. And it has brought a friend: a sun dog, more formally known as a parhelion. This is the bright patch of orange and blue, level with the Sun, caused by the refraction of light through the ice crystals in the dragon’s tail.
