I no longer ride, rode alone or with the wife. I participated in the Steel Pony Express ride a couple of times. It was a charity ride from Baton Rouge to New Orleans fair grounds horse track. Too many inexperienced riders made it a nightmare. I'd just leave from Stonewall and hit NOLA at the track.
