This young conservative makes a very valuable point: "So today my professor decided to dedicate an hour and a half of our class time saying he was scared about what's going on in the government and he's scared about what's going to happen with free speech rights in regards to what's going on with Kimmel.
He also said he had never seen anything like what's going on in the Trump administration. First of all, the government has no involvement with free speech. Everybody knows that. But for him to fearmonger us and say he never saw anything like this before, I raised my hand and I go, I've seen something like this before. What happened when the previous administration sent letters to Facebook telling people to take down their posts regarding COVID-19 and the election?
Or their administration pressuring YouTube and Google to cancel people's accounts and censor conservative accounts when they were talking about the COVID-19 vaccine and the 2020 election? Dan Bongino's YouTube account was banned and canceled because they didn't like what he was saying. And you guys play all holier than thou. The president is actually happy about Kimmel being suspended.
Kamala Harris was celebrating Trump getting suspended from Twitter. That was a form of censorship that Kamala Harris was celebrating. And Jimmy Kimmel was celebrating when Tucker Carlson got canceled. But the point I'm getting at is my professor has influence over us students. What if we have some Tyler Robinsons amongst us and they're constantly hearing for an hour and a half from their professor how dangerous this administration is and how scared he is?
What if that were to prompt one of my fellow classmates to assassinate someone from the Trump administration? And it was, oh, well, my professor was saying how scared he was and how dangerous he was. I was protecting my professor. This is how things like what happened to Charlie Kirk happen. I've never seen this before. No, no, no. You've never seen this before because you're a liberal.
We as conservatives have been living with this censorship for over a decade now. It's nothing new. And it's not right if this administration were to do it. Even though Kimmel said a blatant lie that a Republican killed Charlie Kirk. That's a lie, first of all. But if the government had any say, Brendan Carr said, you know, oh, we're going to do this the easy way or the hard way. I don't condone that. He should not have said that.
The government has no right to take away anybody's speech. But I'm just saying things like what my professor did today is why things like what happened to Charlie Kirk happen. You have people who are not all there and who are crazy hearing somebody that they may respect say that they're scared of something, that they have no reason to be scared. You're scared. We should be scared because Republicans are the ones getting murdered in cold blood for the things that they say."
