Answering With Words Of Truth Proverbs 22:20-21“Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?”1 Peter 3:15“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”Every Christian should grow enough in Bible knowledge so that he or she be can give answer with “words of truth” to those who have questions. This way of Bible study is called apologetics or defense of the Scriptures. Some in our world deem any answers of “words of truth” from the Bible as hate speech when those answers do not line up with their way of living or ideologies.Note that 1 Peter 3:15 tells us that we are to make defense of Scripture with the Lord God sanctified in your heart and with meekness and fear. Meekness means mildness of disposition or gentleness of spirit and the word fear gives reference to the reverence one should carry when handling the “words of truth”. May God give us as Christians grace and courage, with meekness and fear, to stand and be ready to give answer with “words of truth” of the hope of Jesus Christ that is in us.
