By Faith 2 Corinthians 5:6-8“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”The Christian’s life is a journey that is “by faith” between here “at home in the body” until we are “absent from the body, and… present with the Lord”. It seems the older I get both physically and spiritually, I see just how much my life is a life of faith in God and His Word. I wish that everyone I knew had faith in God and His salvation that is through Jesus Christ His Son. I see those who are deceived and it saddens me. For me, my Christianity is not just a choice but a way of life. The Christian way of life is often contrary to the way of the world. As we have recently seen, the Christian way of life carries many risks. Not everyone accepts, agrees with, appreciates, and will be accepting of the New Testament Christian. So while we are at home in the body, we must never forget that God has a work for us to do. One day we will be absent from our body and at home with our Lord in Heaven. But until then we are to continue to walk by faith, sharing with kindness and love the greatest news of all, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
