What An Odd Way To Win The BattleJoshua 6:5, 16“And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him… And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.”God gave Joshua the instructions for the people to overcome the city of Jericho. They were instructed, by God, to march around the city once for six days straight. On the seventh day, march seven times, and then the priests are to blow the trumpet and the people shout with a great shout. Odd instructions, but often our faith is instructed from God’s Word to do things that are contrary to our flesh and our thinking. Our faith is to be anchored in God’s written Word the Bible. Faith calls us to obey His Word, not question its authenticity or validity. We act and react upon it in faith. We live according to it through faith. Their faith anticipated the victory and according to God’s Word they shouted by faith in advance!Anchor your faith in the Bible and act in faith upon God at His Word. The instructions may seem contrary to the world’s view at times but through your faith His Word will always lead to victory.
