Do Not Be Afraid 2 Timothy 1:7-8 -- “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God.” It is evident that our world is becoming an unsafe place for the Christian. Sadly there are people in the world who hate Christians. The enemy Satan would love for us who are Christians to live in fear, be afraid to speak about Christ, be afraid to live our life as a Christian openly with boldness, and even be afraid to go to church. The apostle Paul faced his share of afflictions or persecutions in his day. Paul knew Timothy knew this and he wanted his young protege to know that any fear that came forth from that persecution is not from God. God desires to give Timothy and us power, love, and a sound mind to carry forth the Gospel. The day we live in calls for great courage and great faith! The world needs the Gospel of Jesus Christ more than ever. May we never be afraid to speak the truth in love! Me we know that God is with us.
