This incredible shot was captured by Shasta Schlitt (BYC). Her rooster, Jay, jumped in to defend one of his hens from a hawk. The hawk didn’t survive the encounter, but Jay—though left with a few puncture wounds—pulled through and is doing well. What a brave protector!Follow David Attenborough Fans for more.
