=====> Consequences are REAL <=====
2 Samuel 12:9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the s w o r d, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the s w o r d of the children of Ammon.
2 Samuel 12:10 Now therefore the s w o r d shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
CONSEQUENCES: Yes, God f o r g a v e David of his Sin, but God punished David with a C O N S E Q E N C E, The Sword, that would never depart from his house.
2 Samuel 24:10. “And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very f o o l i s h l y.”
Vs13 - So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of f a m i n e come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' p e s t i l e n c e in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.
CONSEQUENCES: David numbered the People when he was told not too. Yes, God forgave him, but what were his consequences for sin?
God let him c h o s e which consequence that would judge his sinfulness to number the people!
Either seven years of f a m i n e, f l e e i n g three months before his enemies or three days of p e s t i l e n c e.
David's life is f i l l e d with consequences.
These are just two chapters dealing with examples of consequences that are harsh.
Forgiveness from God is n o t difficult but facing your consequences will determine what k i n d of person you are after your sin is forgiven.
Yes, God loves you, and yes, God will judge your sin, and yes there will be consequences that will a f f e c t you, others and there is no time limit on how long his consequences will continue in your life.
Forgiveness from GOD is recognized by his grace and mercy but consequences reveals God's holy and righteous in his judgments.
God must and will without doubt j u d g e your sin(s) with consequences so don't assume God is not a God of Justice.
