The Voice Of Truth Cannot Be Silenced Matthew 14:8-11 -- “And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger. And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.” Why did Queen Herodias have John the Baptist beheaded? It was because John went to King Herod and told him, “It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.” (Mark 6:18) and the fact that John’s preaching “reproved” Herod and Herodias (Luke 3:19). Word got back to Herodias of what John said and she sought a way to silence John. John the Baptist was a voice for truth. Yes, her murder of John stopped John from preaching but the voice of truth continued on. John’s voice is not the only voice that the world and Satan has sought to silence. Jesus said, (John 15:18) “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” It must be understood that the reason Queen Herodias had John the Baptist beheaded was because he spoke the truth of God. The voice of truth is not loved by all and sadly some will go to any length to try to silence that truth, even murder. But truth continues to live on and on. Why? Because truth originates from God who is everlasting and what person is so foolish to think that God can ever be silenced? Psalms 100:5 - “For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” May we all take time throughout the coming days to pray for Erika Kirk, their two children, and the parents of Charlie. May God raise up a generation of believers like Charlie Kirk who are unafraid, and unashamed to proclaim Jesus Christ.
