Leonard “Lenny” E. Taylor was born on August 20, 1957, in Pasadena, California, and grew up in Massachusetts. He graduated from Andover High School in 1974, where he was captain of the hockey team, and later earned a degree in Physics with honors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1979. He began his career as an analyst with XonTech, Inc., in California before relocating to the Washington, D.C., area with his wife, Karyn, where he worked as a Technical Group Manager. Lenny was a devoted husband and father, deeply proud of his daughters, Jessica and Colette. He loved hockey, both playing and coaching, and was also an avid cyclist, often biking 20 miles to work and participating in charity rides. His family and friends remember him for his warmth, intelligence, and dedication to the people he loved. On September 11, 2001, at the age of 44, Leonard E. Taylor was aboard American Airlines Flight 77 when it was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon.
