This is your brain on legal drugs being pushed by big pharma!Before 1980 it was not legal for pharmaceutical companies to advertise on TV. Which made sense, since your doctor should recommend your medicines, not the person selling them! The FDA made advertisement legal in 1980. However, it was not until Obama became president did big pharma begin to fluid the TV with ads. Big pharma TV ads grew by 68% during Obama's second term (2012 to 2016). The U.S. is one of only two countries that allows direct-to-consumer drug advertising on TV, New Zealand being the second. One has to ask "WHY". Why do Americans need big pharma to push their drugs on us? Are we supposed to self-diagnose ourselves then go tell our doctors what medicine we want to take? Quite frankly, I trust my family doctor 200% over big pharma to recommend my treatment for illnesses and diseases! Please help me tell congress to STOP big pharma from pushing their drugs on America!
