Rest For Today Matthew 11:28-30“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”I have often found comfort in these words of Jesus. It is the greatest invitation I have ever received. It is an invitation I never want to reject or make an excuse of why I will not accept it. A person, even the Christian, can grow tired in this world. Most Christians, I know I am, are already tired of this world. But there is a difference between being tired of something versus tired in it. We are in this world and will be until God says it is time for us to leave it. When we get tired, spiritually tired, we have the blessed invitation of Jesus to, “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden…” When we accept His invitation and come to Him by faith, we find the promise fulfilled that He will give us rest. It is only through Christ that we can find rest and recovery from our service for Him. Perhaps today you are feeling tired, this old world is having its effect upon you. Jesus says, “Come…”
