THE BOOK: ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS This post is 100% for unsaved people and people who might be saved, but are very skeptical about the strict beliefs and habits of faithful, church-going, Bible-believing Christians. I want to say a few things directly to you, in hopes of helping you to better understand why we choose to embrace such a "fanatical" lifestyle and appear so strange in the eyes of the world at large. First of all, YES, we do know that we appear strange to you, but we don't care. This is what the Bible calls REPROACH (Heb. 13:13). This is what got the Lord Jesus crucified, and we would be denying Him, if we denied righteous reproach for the sake of having the world accept us. Jesus assured us that the world would even HATE us (John 15:18), so we accept this, just as you accept certain reproaches in your own life, such as people not liking you due to your political beliefs, your successes, your appearance, or maybe your unique personality. As you well know, when you are true to yourself and you stand for something, some people just don't get it. That's how it is with Christians who stand with the word of God. And that's what it comes down to: STANDING ON THE BOOK. While most Christians merely "use" the Bible as part of their silly religious show, some of us really believe it and make a serious effort to apply it in our lives. If our ladies dress differently, it's because I Timothy 2:9 tells them to wear modest apparel. If our men insist that their families attend church "every time the doors are open," it's because Hebrews 10:25 commands us to assemble together. If we don't drink alcohol, it's because the Bible warns against it many times, just as it warns against worldly philosophies, fornication, unbelief, and many other sins. It's not that we think we are better than anyone; it's the fact that we take God's word seriously and try to obey it. It's just that simple. Perhaps you are thinking, "Well, that's YOUR way, but that's not my way." That's where you're wrong, friend. The word of God will be EVERYONE'S way in the day of judgement. Jesus said, ". . . the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." (John 12:48) Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 says, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." There is no escaping this coming day. We will ALL be held accountable for either obeying or disobeying God's word. Serious Christians are simply people who are serious about the word of God where most other people ignore it by being ignorant of it. DON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE. Get serious about God's word while you still have the opportunity, because one day that's all that will matter. RIGHT NOW can be the greatest moment of the greatest day in your life. Right now you can make a complete turnaround and start living God's way in accordance with His Book. WE might appear strange today, but YOU will be the stranger in the day of judgment, if you ignore God's words. DON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE.
