ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY:August 22nd 2003,the Martin Luther King plaque at the Lincoln Memorial the National Park Service hosted a ceremony to commemorate the I Have A Dream speech by Martin Luther King at the Lincoln Memorial
Now marking the spot where he stood is a granite plaque. It was unveiled, along
with Coretta Scott King, by Craig Manson, Assistant Secretary of the
Interior in the George W. Bush administration.
Legislation authorizing the plaque had been introduced by Republican Representative Anne Northup. She called it "important, part of the history and the
