Nothing more can be added to the law. (4) John 17:4 - I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.THE WORK: The w o r k of Jesus was to reveal himself as the M e s s i a h in accordance to the writing of the prophets. Once he did that, there was n o t h i n g more to add to it - I have f i n i s h e d the work.After Jesus died on the c r o s s, Jesus was the sacrifice. He did the w o r k of salvation. You cannot do the w o r k of salvation.The w o r k of salvation solely b e l o n g s to Jesus and once he said it is finished, there is nothing more you can add to what he did unless you are a thief and a robber:John 19:30 - When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is f i n i s h e d: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
