Wear A SuitMost people have seen the 1992 movie, “My Cousin Vinny.” Vincent “Vinny” Gambini is from Brooklyn and he must defend his young cousin in a murder case that takes place in a courtroom in the deep south. The Judge was masterfully portrayed by Fred Gwynne. He sees Gambini in his court wearing a black leather jacket and admonishes him for his appearance.Judge: What are you wearing’?Gambini: I’m, uh, wearin’, uh, clothes. I don’t get the question.Judge: When you come into my court looking like you do, you not only insult me, but you insult the integrity of this court.Later on Gambini gets mud on his suit, and lacking the time to get it cleaned he purchases an old-time riverboat gambling outfit at a second hand store. He wears it to court, which prompts a contempt charge. In the case of President Trump, he’s a man who expects visitors to the White House to dress appropriately—and respectfully for the highest office of the land. Trump is trying to clean up Washington DC, rid it of crime and homeless encampments. Trump wants to restore integrity to the nation’s capital.Zelensky had better show up wearing a suit the next time he meets with Trump. And it had better be made out of some kind of cloth.— Ben Garrison
