Bad ChoicesProverbs 1:29“For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:”This section of Scripture in Proverbs 1:24-33 is about the choices we make. Many people make the choice to refuse and disregard what the Lord has to offer them. The Lord offers Himself and His ways to follow. He is holy and everything the Bible says about Him is true and everything the Bible says He will do He will do. In reaction to this truth my faith says I better fear (reverence and respect) the LORD. Our verse today teaches us that some people just plain out hate the knowledge of God. They do not want to hear about God. They do not read or study about God from the Bible to find out who He is. They do not want to have anything to do with God. They even go as far as trying to dissuade others who have interest in knowing God. They do not choose the fear of the LORD. This is a sad way for a person to live. The saddest part is that through their rejection of God, they are taking the sobering chance that God will leave them to their self.Proverbs 1:31“Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.”Sinful choices have consequences.
