Why Do We Doubt God?Luke 12:29“And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.”Jesus was speaking to His disciples in this verse and warning them not to be over anxious about the necessities of life.Why do we doubt God?It seems all Christians, at times doubt God. We have reference in the Gospels that the disciples doubted God, even as they were walking with Christ and witnessing the miracles they still doubted Him. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared unto all the disciples but in Matthew 28:17 it says, “And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.”Some doubted?How can they carry out what Jesus says to them next if they are doubting?Some doubted; then we read “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20)Even though Christ knew that some doubted, He still commissioned them to go into all the world and preach. I am not sure I have the answer of why we at times doubt God. Maybe it is just sinful human nature. But, I do know this Jesus still believes in us enough to say, “Go”!May God help us, doubts and all, to just keep going and telling the world about His Son Jesus!
