"LET'S TALK ABOUT QUANTUM MECHANICS!"
Another interesting aspect of quantum physics regarding the argument about light being particles or waves is kind of a moot point, only because the competing sides are both right and wrong. Light, photons and even electrons act as both particles and waves. The results of the split screen experiment meant to settle the argument initially appeared to do so, however the parameters of the experiment did not take into consideration the limitations of the physical structure of the screen in relation to the size of photons or electrons. The assumption that the particles or waves would be traveling in a straight line through the slits in the screen is erroneous. The screen cannot be made thin enough to not have a three-dimensional surface edge on the inside area of the slit that would redirect, ricochet or reflect both particles and waves creating the many different striped areas on the detector was misinterpreted as waves. The wave action in the argument used typically shows two pebbles dropped into a pond showing the expanding waves intersecting each other resulting in the multiple patterns of lines like those on the detector screen. If you consider that water/liquid manifest disruptive motion as wave energy patterns you have to acknowledge that water consists of molecules/particles. So, in a nutshell, light is energy motivated particles. On a deeper level at the quantum reality of string theory well beyond sub-atomic particles of quarks, leptons, neutrinos, etc. there is virtually no difference between what we understand as energy and matter, they are interchangeable.
