1 Thessalonians 4:4 - That every one of you should k n o w how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;POSSESS: When you are a ‘child of God’ you will p o s s e s s His Spirit that provides His fruit. It’s the fruit, singular, not fruits, plural. When you are n o t his child then you will p o s s e s s the fruits of this world: lies, anger, bitterness, meanness, hatefulness, etc.You are to develop all n i n e of these and together they are the ‘fruit’ of the Spirit. Some teach they are s e p a r a t e ‘fruits’ and though you might be ‘gifted’ with just one or two. It’s ok not to have the others, as long as you are possessed with the one or two. This makes them ‘fruits” (Plural) and not the fruit (singular). Once saved, the fruit of the Spirit, all n i n e, are to be expressed to all who we come in contact with. These nine fold fruit can be part of your life if you ‘ k n o w ‘ how to possess your vessel. If you are not interested what possesses you, then I question ‘if’ you possess the Holy Spirit. When you are possessed by the H O L Y Spirt, then it is natural to assume holiness in a person’s life follows.Consequently, k n o w i n g how is part of your willingness to be part of church to learn God’s truth, God’s ways, and God’s heart.Now, are you p o s s e s s e d by the fruit of the Spirit or the spirit of this world?
