In a recent discussion with my son, he argued that ‘you cannot prove a negative’. This is a common misconception, because you indeed can prove a negative! It is just a matter of semantics. You can legally prove that you did NOT assassinate Abraham Lincoln, you can prove that you did NOT go to the moon with the Apollo astronauts, you can prove that men are NOT women. You can prove that two plus two will NEVER equal five. You can prove that you can NOT abrogate imperial facts! Etc.
