Do You Want To?1 John 5:1-3“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”There should be within the heart of everyone who is saved, a desire, an“I want to” desire to serve God and live in obedience to His Word. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that serving and living for God is going to be easy, always enjoyable, or fun. In my ministry I talk to people whose lives are broken by sin. Sometimes there are those whose life is broken by the sin of someone else. A lot of children have broken and messed up lives because of the sinful choices of their parents. It is not fun, it is not enjoyable to have the conversations that are needed to be had with these people. But, I want to have those conversations.I want to try and take them through the Word of God and to pray for them and with them in hope they find help and healing. It should not be grievous for us to follow God, live in obedience to His Word, walk with Him, and do His will.Do you want to live for God?Do you love Him and His Word?Do you find it grievous in your attempt to walk with Him and serve Him?The desire to do such things with and for God should be there within our heart as a Christian. Somethings we do for God may not be enjoyable, but the desire to do them should still be there.May God help us with these matters.
