GoMatthew 28:18-20“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”This portion of Scripture is rightly called The Great Commission. The first word of action for us in this passage is the word “Go”.It is a call for personal involvement. It is a command not an option. The New Testament Christian has a message to share with others and that message is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mark records the words of Jesus in Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Go and preach! The average church member believes the word preach describes what a man does on Sunday morning when he stands behind a pulpit and opens the Bible and begins to talk. The average church member thinks this word preach is a word designated only for a few select people. The word means to herald.A herald was a public crier. He was one who went about in the street, heralding out or crying out an important message from a higher authority than himself. All Christians are to go!We have a message to tell!We have a power given to us from a high authority. “All power” is given unto Jesus and He has given that power unto us. We are not alone, for Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you…”So what are we waiting for? Will you go and tell someone today?
