The New Life2 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”It has been about 50 years since I trusted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and was saved. From that first day until now I can look back over my life and see the change that has taken place. I can remember all the times that I failed God and sinned. I can remember the working of the Holy Spirit, the conviction of sin, the chastisement, and the Holy Spirit leading me to repentance. I can testify to the periods of change when the old things were passed away and the new was taking place.I do not claim to understand all there is to know about the love of God, this I do know- “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”2 Corinthians 5:14-15.I know God loves me and I know I must serve Him with all my heart. I know there was no way I could make the changes in my life that needed to take place and I know there is no way I can make the changes in my life that still need to take place. I know that I am “in Christ”, I am “born again” (John 3:3, 7), I am “saved” (Romans 19:9, 10, 13). And because I am fully confident of being “a new creature” in Christ I am equally confident that “He’s still working on me, to make me what I ought to be” (He’s Still Working On Me; Joel Hemphill). In what ways can you confidently testify that Jesus Christ and His salvation has changed your life?
