"When You're The Sheep Among Wolves"There is a segment of society in American that responds to anyone who doesn’t agree with them or think the same way they do with anger, and even violence. They threaten, vandalize, mob, harass, and vilify with ugly language. They are twisted with hatred and will stop at nothing to get their way.There is another segment of society that is under direct command of God to return good for evil, pray for their oppressors, and feed and clothe them if necessary. These people are told that anger accomplishes nothing good and that soft answers turn away wrath. They are expected to follow the example of Jesus who when reviled, did not revile in response. These people are Christians. They are to be filled with the love of Christ and display it in the faces of their antagonists.Jesus went even further in telling his disciples, “I send you out as sheep among wolves.” Jesus himself was the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. He ended his ministry in the hands of blood-thirsty, brutal wolves. And as they slaughtered the Lamb, the Lamb cried out “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”Remember that when you’re being maligned, scorned, or attacked for your faith, or for speaking truth in a maelstrom of wickedness. We don’t call down judgment on them. We beg for God to be merciful and forgiving.
