Here’s my question regarding the vegan debate…
Here in Australia, 97% of beef is farmed in arid grasslands and deserts that cannot support cropping. Grain feeding occurs rarely, and usually only at the very end of the growing period to obtain uniformity of product.
If we remove that nearly 3 MILLION TONS per year (not a typo) of that 20% protein food source, how will we replace it? How much extra land clearing and animal displacement will be required to replace that lost protein with say soybeans, that require animal dense tropical and sub-tropical land to farm?
I’m here to learn and keen on your views and credible evidence regarding my question.
