The Unknowns Of Heaven2 Corinthians 12:2-4 -- “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”The Bible gives us an anticipating description of Heaven. Here in this text Paul tells us of a man he knew (most likely himself) who was “caught up to the third heaven”. That is the future abroad of the redeemed, the church of the living God. Whatever Paul heard and saw he was not allowed by God to speak of it. Most of the time what we do not know brings fear into our heart, but not here!! What we do not know or understand about Heaven is only met with excitement and joy and great hope.1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”This makes me think of the old hymn I used to sing to my children when they were all babies.“How beautiful Heaven must be,sweet home of the happy and free;Fair haven of rest for the weary,How beautiful Heaven must be!”How wonderful it is to think about Heaven!
