Just For A Season1 Peter 1:6-7“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”Most likely we all have our favorite season of the year. Or, there may be a little in each of the four seasons that we do not like, but we know that in time the season will change.Our text indicates a season that is of a different nature than the four in which we are accustomed. For the Christian there is the season of manifold temptations. The trials of our faith can come of different sorts but they all are designed by God to purify our faith in Him, that our faith “might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ”.Thankfully, these trials are but for a season. They do not linger on forever but they all are getting us ready for eternity. Perhaps this day finds you in a season of a trial of your faith. Please know that it will only endure as long as God sees fit for it to endure. Also know that through it He is working a great work in your heart and life. In these truths we can “greatly rejoice”!
