We just celebrated D-Day when American troops stormed the beaches of Normandy. Normandy is in France, but the flags the Americans had with them were not French flags. And the beaches of Normandy were held by the Germans, but Americans sure as hell didn't bring German flags. They brought American flags because that is who those troops were representing. Oddly enough Brits on the beaches carried the Union Jack and Canadians flew the Maple Leaf. We should keep this in mind when viewing photos of flag waving invaders such as those in Los Angeles.
