ABRAHAM THE FATHER OF ALL NATIONS.
The Jews are descendants of Abrahamâs son Isaac. Isaac was the promised son.
The Arabs are descendants of Abrahamâs son Ishmael by the slave woman .
With Ishmael being the son of a slave woman, the illegitimate son of Abraham. Genesis 16:1-1 and Isaac being the promised son who would inherit the blessings of Abraham, obviously there would be some animosity between the two sons.
As a result of Ishmaelâs mocking Isaac, Sarah talked Abraham into sending Hagar and Ishmael away.
Likely, this caused even more contempt in Ishmaelâs heart towards Isaac.
An angel prophesied to Hagar that Ishmael would âlive in hostility toward all his brothersâ.
