Recognizing The Lord
John 21:4-7 -- “But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord…”
After the crucifixion of our Lord, Peter decided he would go fishing and his wayward adventure brought others along with him. Their efforts that night of fishing were fruitless, they caught nothing. Christians living away from the will of God will always carry empty baskets in life. Drifting away from where and what they should have been doing these wayward servants of the Lord needed a visitation from Jesus to get them back on track. A miracle catch of fishes triggered the memory of John and he immediately identified the unknown man on the seashore, “It is the Lord”.
His recognition of the Lord helped to bring about the revelation of where they were and where they should be. We are reminded here of the revelation of Christ in our own life that comes from recognizing the Lord in our life. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Are you recognizing the Lord Jesus Christ and His workings in your life?
What is the recognition of Christ revealing to you?
