If I had access to a “time machine” the first thing I would do is go back and convince both my parents to stop smoking. I remember back in the 50’s and 60’s there were plenty of TV and radio commercials advertising cigarettes and liquor with indorsements from accredited scientists and medical doctors. The FCC finally band those advertisements however, they were replaced by advertisements for bazaar prescription pharmaceuticals, vaccines and various chemical stimulants and/or depressants.
