Living In VictoryJames 1:21“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”What a difference it makes in one’s life when they “receive with meekness the engrafted word”. I have known individuals who knew the Bible well. They would “hear” preaching from the Bible and read the Bible for themselves but would not obtain the Christian victory in their life. The verses that follow James 1:21 speak to us about being “doers of the word, and not hearers only”. There must be by faith, an appropriation of the Word of God in our life.James 1:25“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”Note the phrase “and continueth therein”.Does this describe you?Are you one who not only hears the word but you “continueth therein”?Note the outcome, “this man shall be blessed in his deed”. Getting up and reading my Bible every morning is good. But it is better to take what I have read and by faith make it my life. Daily making the Bible a part of one’s life is what helps to lead one to living in victory!
