Broken And Needing Hope There are so many people in our world today whose life is broken and without hope. There is only one way of that brokenness being fixed and one’s heart being filled with hope- that is through a personal and thriving relationship with Jesus Christ! Romans 15:13“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” The Bible gives several references to the truth that when one’s life is separated from Jesus Christ then that same person has little or no hope. Ephesians 2:12 tells us “That at that time ye were without Christ… having no hope, and without God in the world:” There is a definite connection between one being without Christ or without God and also having no hope. In 1 Timothy 1:1 we are reminded of the Lord Jesus Christ, “which is our hope”. A good biblical definition of hope is the joyful and confident expectation of obtaining good through faith in Jesus Christ. Hope is not a wish you want to come true but the confident reality that something better is on the way! This is the reason that in Titus 2:13 the second appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ is called the believer’s “blessed hope”. It is not wishful thinking that Jesus is going to return but a reality of hope that my faith brings into my heart. This world and many people living in it are broken.
